Q I am very careful with the mitzvah of Chodosh/Yoshon and do not eat anything that has grain in the ingredients unless I know for sure that it is Yoshon. I am wondering whether I need to be concerned that the food might have been prepared in keilim that were previously used for Chodosh, even when the new food itself has no grain.
A You do not need to be concerned. The Mishna Berurah (489:48) writes that even those who are careful with Chodosh do not need to be concerned with keilim, unless they know for a fact that the keilim were used for Chodosh within 24 hours prior to preparing your food. Absent such clear knowledge, one need not be concerned.
